Now that we have chosen a preset, we can make some refinements using the sliders on the editing panels. For quick automatic adjustments to these basic sliders, use the Auto button. This applies a number of intelligent adjustments to the image, which you can use unmodified or refine further.
It can also be used to make tonal adjustments to your image. Dragging in each zone adjusts the associated slider on the Basic panel. Hover over a few presets in the Presets panel to quickly evaluate a variety of looks. This makes it easy to select a preset that enhances the photo. Once applied, if the effect is too strong, simply adjust the Overall Intensity to dial it back.
This controls how the effect is blended with the original image. For black and white images, Exposure can adjust the overall blend on either a color or black and white base image. Exposure features a brush tool and a spot heal tool for photo retouching.

Exposure X7. Noise Reduction Video Exposure offers a powerful set of tools for reducing the appearance of digital noise in photos. Anyone who bought Exposure 6 since its launch in June this year can upgrade to version 7 for free" Just read above where it says Press Release. Thanks Dave, I saw it, but the folks at Alienskin make a distinction between "purchased" or "bought" and "upgraded to", and there is no explicit mention to the latest "upgraded to" in the press release.
In fact, there are also people who upgraded to v6, but they did it for free and -according to AlienSkin staff- do not qualify for a free v7. So the specific wording is important although I would agree that "bought" means "bought", either upgrading or not! Or it should. Anyway, I have received an email informing that there was a problem and some emails weren't sent. I have asked for my new license and I got the email now.
I have not been able to check yet but it seems everything should be okay! Hi Carl bcn, glad to her you will get your upgrade. All sounds very confusing! But I guess the usual practice for software is to pay for each upgrade but a consesion is given to recent buyers of the full version. Sounds like they need to make themselves much clearer.
Hi Carl, and everyone else. Basically anyone who paid money for Exposure 6, either through a new purchase or through a purchased upgrade to 6, will get Exposure 7 for free. Those that got the upgrade to Exposure 6 as a "free" upgrade from Exposure 5, would need to purchase the upgrade to Exposure 7. Is anyone still using typewriters these days, when there are computers? Is anyone still using cloth diapers for their babies, when there are disposable ones?
Do people have money to burn by still using film, and not taking advantage of modern technology? Well i don't want to sound rude or disrespectful, but using film in this day and age is quite silly and wasteful Upgrade from 35mm to medium format and let me know how much that costs while you're at it;.
You obviously don't know what you are talking about. The problem with any product like that or DxO , is that they don't provide a sufficient range of supported cameras, including old ones that I used for RAW shooting. It's pretty sad, knowing that even open-source projects supports more cameras than some commercial products.
One of the interest in RAW processing with sensor profile, is to be able to mix and match many different photos from different cameras in a project, and have them sharing the same look and feeling even if it's not perfect. No question about it, that this is a heavy calibre member in arsenal in department of my Photoshop plug-ins. Okay, so where is my free upgrade? Which one is it? I bought Exposure 6 a couple weeks back and got an email from them giving me a free upgrade.
Check your emails! Same here. I paid for an upgrade to Exposure 6 after june 10th, and they have been saying all paid users of Exposure 6 purchased or upgraded, but paid would get v7 for free. But no free upgrade. I have emailed them and I am waiting for an answer. It turns out that they had some trouble sending the keys. Everything is okay now for me! Downloaded and activated v7.
We will be back in the office on Monday and will be able to handle your issue. We had a major email issue that caused some people to not receive their free upgrades. We resent everything on Thursday.
We apologize for the confusion and trouble this caused you and Carl. Who would I want to shoot with film? I can have emulation at a fraction of the cost compared to going old man style ;. You realize that the available range of film and paper types is shrinking at a rapid rate, which has only accelerated since the digital tipping point was passed? In many cases it isn't that people are too lazy to use film, but the film they would like to use is simply no longer made.
When that happens, these digital emulations of film may be the only way left to get that look. If only the emulation software actually looked anything like the films in question. Why would anyone want to use film isntead of softeare Yes, I garee Why should i use old and inferior technology?
Why should i make my life harder than necessary? Ever heard of progress? You're right Why do people do sculpture when 3D printers are better? Why use a real piano when synthesizer can do way more? Your comparison is invalid.
But about the last one, yeah i'd never play a piano when i can play a synthesizer.
